IIFT at an all time high

            Indian Institute of Foreign Trade’s (IIFT) 2006 campus placements added yet another feather in the cap of the premier B-School in the Capital.  Not only the salary package for the IIFT graduates touched an all time high, 10% of its students managed to receive overseas offers as well.

 

            The highest domestic annual salary offered at ‘Placement 2006” stands at Rs. 10.6 lakhs whereas, the International counterpart is at US$ 100,000.  Around 75 companies were present on the placement day to recruit around 100 students.

 

            Prabir Sengupta, director, IIFT, said; “The global business market is changing.  IIFT grooms a unique brand of potential managers who understand the dynamics of national and international business in a globalizing world.  The placements only confirm the need for such students in today’s world.”

 

            The average package this year has been over Rs. 8 lakh per annum this year as against Rs 7.28 lakh in 2005 and Rs 5.89 lakh in 2004.  The highest individual salary was Rs 9.50 lakh in 2005 and 7 lakh in 2004.
