 Exports touch $100 bn

             Merchandise exports from India touched $ 100 billon during 2005-06 compared with $ 63 billion in 2004-05, an increase of about 26 per cent, Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath said today.

             Addressing students of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Nath said, “Our total economic engagement with the world today, including imports, tops $350 billion, which reflects our growing significance in international trade.  With a right blend of IT, biotech and pharma manufacturing, India could be the key destination for knowledge process outsourcing and engineering.
